Impuls.News Community Guidelines

Impuls.News thrives on the exchange of different perspectives. Different opinions are part of an open discussion. What's crucial is that we treat each other with respect and together create a space where questions can be asked, ideas shared, and topics discussed.

To achieve this, we have formulated rules. These apply to all publicly visible contributions and activities within the Impuls.News community. This includes, in particular, comments, discussions, topic suggestions, polls, profile information, usernames, images, and links.

For all mentioned placements:

Treat other users respectfully

Discussions can be critical, but personal attacks are not part of them. Treat other users with respect, even if you disagree.

Not allowed:

  • Insults, abuse, or personal attacks
  • Threats or intimidation
  • targeted denigration of individuals or groups
  • discriminatory statements based on origin, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics
  • inhumane or extremist content
  • Defamation and credit-damaging claims

Criticism of ideas, opinions, and political positions is expressly welcomed – it should remain objective and understandable.

Respect copyrights and other rights.
Only publish texts, images, videos, and other content that you have created yourself or for which you have the necessary rights to publish. Quotations must be marked as such and may only be used to the extent permitted by law. Content that infringes copyrights, personality rights, or other third-party rights may be removed.

Stay on topic

The forum should provide space for exciting discussions and the exchange of perspectives. Please:

  • Stay on topic with the respective post,
  • Justify your opinion with arguments as much as possible,
  • Ask questions if you want to understand something more precisely.,
  • Contribute to a constructive discussion.

Posts that permanently deviate from the topic or prevent factual discussion may be moderated.

No advertising and no spam

The forum is not a place for advertising or unsolicited content. Not allowed are:

  • Advertising for products, services, or events unrelated to the discussion.,
  • repeated same posts,
  • Spam or automated content,
  • misleading links or content with fraudulent intent.

Do not spread misinformation

A good discussion requires a common ground. Please do not share intentionally false information, fabricated facts, or manipulated content. If you make claims, strive for verifiable sources or explanations. Controversial opinions and differing assessments are welcome – but they must be recognizable as such.

Protect the privacy of others

Do not publish personal information about yourself or others. The following are not permitted:

  • Private addresses,
  • Phone numbers or other contact information,
  • non-publicly known personal information,
  • Photos or content without required consent.

Respect the editorial staff's journalistic responsibility

The community highlights what issues are important. Discussions, questions, and perspectives on these topics are welcome. However, the editorial team independently decides on research, content, and publications. It is their responsibility to adhere to journalistic due diligence principles. Supporters, donors, or partners also cannot demand specific reports or outcomes. This keeps Impuls.News independent and journalistically responsible.

Forum moderation

Our goal is an open and fair exchange. Therefore, the editorial team may moderate, hide, or delete contributions if they violate these rules. This particularly applies to contributions with:

  • illegal content,
  • Incitement to violence,
  • Hate or discrimination,
  • neo-Nazism,
  • sexualized violence and depictions of sexual abuse,
  • illegal or age-inappropriate content,
  • Publishing third-party copyrighted content without permission,
  • personal attacks,
  • disinformation,
  • Violations of privacy,
  • Advertising or spam.

Depending on the type, severity, and frequency of a violation, the editorial board may:

  • Flag, move, or hide posts,
  • Delete content in whole or in part,
  • Warn users,
  • Temporarily restrict account functions,
  • Temporarily or permanently block content,
  • Inform relevant authorities of a specific suspicion of a criminal offense.

In cases of particularly serious violations, a ban may be imposed without prior warning.

Report posts

If you see a post that violates these rules or applicable law, you can report it using the designated reporting function or by kontakt@impuls.news report. Please provide a clear reason for the report. The editorial team carefully reviews reports and decides on appropriate actions.

Impuls.News may evolve its community guidelines as new features or moderation experiences necessitate. Substantive changes will be transparently announced.
